    Youth for Christ is a local organization in Brandon, MB, their goal with the transitional housing is to offer housing and support programs for young adults as they transition into independence.

Located in Portage la Prairie, MB this housing unit includes 8 suites, 1 specifically designed for handicapped use.  The building design was originally completed for the Youth For Christ organization in Brandon, MB .

  3. Best Western Hotel

    Best Western is a successful chain of hotels that are located worldwide. The Brandon Best Western is a 3-storey building with 79 rooms, located on Middleton Drive in Brandon Manitoba. The Brandon Best Western Hotel is a facility housing amenities usually featured in the Best Western chain including a pool, patio, breakfast area, elevator and fitness center. Samson Engineering Inc. completed all the architectural and engineering components with drawings issued for construction.

    The scope of work completed by SEI encompassed architectural, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering design services in order to produce certified drawings. SEI integrated the specific needs of the client, users and Best Western Design Standards to produce a hotel that feels like a home away from home. This
    building has a very low energy footprint by using a high efficiency ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) construction on the exterior of the building. Also ICF construction was used between each suite to creating a suite that is as quiet as possible, making each guests stay very comfortable. Civil aspects by Samson Engineering included the designing sewer, water and drainage components of the project. SEI also designed the roads, curbs and asphalt surfacing for the driveways and parking areas in addition to sidewalks and the concrete entrance pads. Structural components encompassed the design of the foundation and superstructure of the facility: concrete foundation elements, concrete shell for the pool, concrete superstructure. SEI designed all the mechanical systems: plumbing, hot & cold water supply, sprinkler system, heating, ventilations, and air conditioning. The detailed electrical design included site lighting and power, electrical distribution systems, service entrance, electrical panels, lighting plan, power and receptacles plan, voice and data plan, exit/emergency lighting systems, the fire alarm system, and electrical requirements for HVAC systems. Samson Engineering generated project specifications for the building, prepared for tendering.

    The Brandon Best Western Hotel was a project of enormous scope, and SEI was there throughout, completing construction reviews and monitoring the work as it progressed to ensure it was properly completed.

  4. Choice Hotels

    This 4 storey, wood frame structure of approximately 10,800 sq. ft. per floor encompasses 89 hotel room suites.  The facility houses the usual amenities of a Choice Hotel including an elevator, fitness center, meeting room, guest laundry.  Samson Engineering Inc. completed the civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering design services for this entire project. Samson Design Inc. completed the architectural design on the project.

  5. CP Railway Station Renovation

    The original CP Railway Station in Brandon was built in 1911 – 1912 and was used for administrative, freight and repair headquarters. In early 2011, Samson Engineering Inc. completed the architecture and engineering design to convert the station into office and classroom space for Westman Immigrant Services.

    The railway station is heritage designated building which in itself requires very specific design sensitivity. SEI completed the project in keeping with the heritage standards and guidelines, maintaining and restoring the historic building elements that make the Brandon CP Railway Station so distinguishable.

  6. Pipestone Villas 55+ Housing

    Pipestone Villas in Moosomin, SK is a 24 suite, four story 55+ seniors housing complex. Samson Engineering Inc. completed the civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering for this project. Samson Design Inc. completed the architectural design on the project. As some seniors may have restricted physical abilities, barrier free design was integrated into the overall design of this 55+ complex.

  7. Westman Communications Group

    Samson Engineering Inc. completed the architecture and engineering design and construction services for this office renovation and building envelope upgrade. Westman Communications Group required a re-organization of their facility to optimize their customer service support and operations. SEI also worked closely with the client to complete the redesign of the building’s exterior image.

  8. Glacier Car Wash

    Glacier Car Wash, located on Park Avenue in Brandon, is an eleven-bay self-serve style car wash. In addition to the car wash, the building houses a unique pet wash area, and full service laundromat facility.

    The building is constructed of durable insulated polyvinyl encased concrete walls, which are well suited to handle the high humidity environment present in the car wash. This construction also lends itself well to frequent wash-downs to maintain the cleanliness of the facility. As customers exit the building, large blow dryers are positioned to effectively dry the standing water on the vehicle. When preceded with a spot free rinse, the result is a very clean surface with no residual soap or wax.

    Energy efficiency is also very prominent feature in the building. Heat is recovered from exhausted air, and the primary heat source is a highly efficient condensing type boiler system. Construction for this project was completed in the spring of 2005, by general contractor Excel Construction Ltd.

  9. Shape Foods

    Shape Foods Inc. is a 70,000 square foot flax oil production facility located in Brandon, Manitoba. Samson Engineering Inc. completed the design of the food processing plant with a very large scope encompassing architecture and civil, structural and mechanical engineering design services.

    Samson Engineering composed the complete design of the building. We also completed tendering documents for all aspects of construction. The civil engineering design aspects included are that of the drainage plan, sewer and water plan, gas, and fire systems. Structural designs included that of the concrete foundations for the buildings, the Bins and the piles. Mechanical components included HVAC, heating and cooling systems design, plumbing design, oil separator design and trenches and drainage plans. Electrical design included lighting and more centrally the office building design.

  10. Tundra Oil & Gas

    Tundra Oil & Gas is a growing company initialized in Winnipeg. Tundra’s field office in Virden oversees the day-to-day operation of approximately 1,600 wells. Samson Engineering Inc. provided design services for an addition to hold more offices in the Virden Tundra building.

    The project encompassed civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering design and architecture. A concept drawing was designed, followed by the production of structural and architectural drawings. The mechanical systems design included plumbing, hot and cold water supply, heating, ventilation and air conditioning. The electrical component encompassed lighting, receptacles, fire-alarm system, exit and emergency lighting and communications systems. SEI generated the project specifications to be used for tendering.
